A Colombian intentional community/peace village. It was established in the aftermath of tragic massacres of villagers in 1996-97. But the military presence has continued and the peace village exists under threat. Many have been murdered. With over 700 farmers involved, the Sekem initiative in Egypt under guidance since 1977 of Dr Ibrahim Abouleish, is a community farm, where apparently "Islamic religion and western technology could come together in harmony." The initiative has focused on medicinal pharmaceutical production.
