An old, traditional Gypsy cave community, now revitalised and inhabited by modern day gypsies and travellers. Located in the hills above eastern Granada in Spain.

A Colombian intentional community/peace village. It was established in the aftermath of tragic massacres of villagers in 1996-97. But the military presence has continued and the peace village exists under threat. Many have been murdered. Controversial ‘conservation’ group with lots of activist supporters and a number of critics. Particularly active in campaigns to prevent the slaughter of whales, sharks and dolphins. Describes itself as:

With over 700 farmers involved, the Sekem initiative in Egypt under guidance since 1977 of Dr Ibrahim Abouleish, is a community farm, where apparently "Islamic religion and western technology could come together in harmony." The initiative has focused on medicinal pharmaceutical production.
