Permaship was founded in 2007 as a permaculture demonstration and information center, in the Southern Slopes of the Balkan Mountains. Permaship consisted of two permaculture sites, including: chicken tractor beds, rainwater collection systems - (earthworks and storage tanks), dry compost toilets and greywater systems. Today Permaship does not operate but they keep the website running as it contains information on practical application and experiences of permaculture principles.
Prominent Russian anarchist who was a profound thinker and writer across a wide range of subjects including: geography, the environment, mutual aid and self-sufficiency. Although he died in 1921 his philosophy and writings are still much quoted today. His influential writings include, ‘Mutual aid: a factor in evolution’ and ‘Fields, factories and workshops’ – looking for moves towards communalism.

Rainbow Dreaming
Described as a photo documentary about the area around Byron Bay and Nimbin – home of the original tribes of hippies in OZ. It links to a book of the same name and the Bodhi Farm community and the history of local festivals.
Rainbow gatherings. Apparently the largest grouping of non-members on the planet with a variety of websites and on-line pages. Also, here’s a link to a film of one gathering in Portugal in 2011.
Reclaim the Seeds. This organisation supplies info and organises events to propagate non-GM seeds. Dutch-based, but plenty that can be read in English.
Reclaim the Streets have had website problems with cyber-hackers, but this should be the current site. They are an activist environmental organisation. Lots of 'events'.
