A Colombian intentional community/peace village. It was established in the aftermath of tragic massacres of villagers in 1996-97. But the military presence has continued and the peace village exists under threat. Many have been murdered. To find out more of their harrowing existence follow the links to their official site and to a 2010 video.

They say that:
“Save the Earth, the People’s Co-Operative – designed by the people, for the people of this world and our goal is to broaden our base around the globe, as we become truly international. The term Co-Operative doesn’t just describe how we work or how we conduct ourselves, like “collaborative” or “shared-economy”. It is a legal entity, a nationally-regulated alternative form of enterprise ownership.”
Established as a micro-nation by Major Roy Bates in 1967 on a former British sea-fort platform (Roughs Tower) and pirate radio station – this independent nation has a chequered history of fires, invasions, legal battles and more! His son, Michael, is current Prince Regent of Sealand. “Holding the Fort”, as he puts it (also the title of his book).
You are also invited to join Sealand's aristocracy - at a price...

It has existed for twelve years on a remote estate. Vladamir (our friend) said it was a place of ‘spiritual secrets’ based on ‘freedom, love and independence’. The Flying Cow is its symbol. It offers an alternative to the militaristic festivals favoured by the State authorities. Broad range of music.
And it welcomes travellers and visitors.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s many DiYers and self-builders looked to Shelter’s books from the USA for inspiration plus practical ideas. Many of the books and others have been updated and are still available, whilst original copies have achieved something of iconic status. Includes Lloyd Kahn’s blog…and videos. Includes new materials on tiny homes on the move.

Eco-artists’ village in Sweden. They own their own premises. Their website states that: “Eco-ateliers, ‘Cut Source’ is located in Bottna in Bohuslän, about a kilometer from the west sea. Here are 23 households, of which 7 are year-round residents, and each site includes a studio space. Many of us who live in Cut Source are artistically active in different ways: here live architects, artists, filmmakers, photographers, writers, musicians and ordinary WAGE-SLAVE.”
