Mountain Bothies Association (UK)
For those who love wild and remote spaces! And many really are very remote. You may find yourself on your own or sharing with new friends.
A membership organisation (but you don’t have to join) upholding the tradition of supporting wild remote dwellings for use by adventurous folk for free. Just keep to the Mountain Bothy Code!

The Mutoid Waste Company are an important and influential counter culture group. Here are links to two site. Norway is home to the largest and apparently ‘best’ public hut system in the world. It’s a way of life for locals and a novelty for visitors.
The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) oversees more than 500 cabins spanning the country and situated incrementally throughout the National Parks and other areas of great natural beauty.
There is an annual charge and huts are graded and charged accordingly.
