Padanaram Community

Padanaram Community
Name
Padanaram Community
Category
Communal spaces and places
Description

One of the older intentional communities in the USA. Their Facebook site says:

“Padanaram is alive and well today and is located on nearly 3,000 acres in the wooded countryside of Martin County in southern Indiana. Founded in 1966 by Daniel Wright, his wife Lois and a few friends, it has grown from 86 acres to its present size.”

God’s Valley in Indiana. An relatively old ‘backwoods’ commune first formed by devoutly, and individually religious, Daniel Wright. At one time 200 folk lived there. But it is just about keeping going, now more a 'community' than a commune.

Passing Clouds

Passing Clouds
Name
Passing Clouds
Category
Communal spaces and places, Festivals, Music, Protest and activism
Description

Something of a musical and cultural institution in East London. It’s a club, a real and on-line community. Like many other music and cultural centres (and music pubs) it’s also under threat from property development.

Passing Clouds is celebrated for bringing together musicians from a diverse range of international backgrounds to collaborate through the universal language of music and a collective desire for peace and harmony on the earth.

In this way, Passing Clouds celebrates the true diversity of culture in Hackney, London and the world and provides a living demonstration of the ability for people of all backgrounds to come together in love, respect and understanding.

Description

A whole host of info and links to Pagan and Christian beliefs. A lot about spirituality and nature. Communality and celebrations.

They say:

“We participate in dedication and initiation ceremonies. We celebrate life's transitions with coming of age and croning rituals. If Paganism is a celebration of life then the Rites of Passage we participate in are the mile markers of that celebration.”

About

We aim to incorporate:

– an ideas exchange – with various forums for discussion and debate
– resources sections with hyperlinks and actual information material. Potentially an online library with links to specific resources and publications, images, videos, and
– a 'web of hubs’ to sites, organisations and individuals around the world.
It’s a bold dream…we hope you and friends will help it grow…
