The oldest and arguably the most ’hippy’ of the UK’s intentional (perhaps) eco-communities since being established in 1976. It is located in deeply rural Wales. Links here to an interesting and pretty honest article in ‘Huck magazine about the diverse range of folk who live in the valley. In the article, Sarah Bentley suggests,
“After spending time at Tipi Valley, I’m struck by the variety of lifestyles, dwellings and characters harmoniously housed within it. From yogis holed up in tents on three-year retreats to families living in farmhouses running renowned tipi-building businesses and festivals such as The Big Green Gathering, it’s all here with no hard or fast protocol.”

Traveller Homes is the great site curated by Traveller Dave. Lots of fabulous images of live-in homes around the world.
The charity started in 1988 due to an increased need amongst Traveller children for educational support, independent of mainstream education. Over the years has run the Skool Bus and produced a large amount of off-site educational materials. A limited website.
Tribal Living Forum for folk who live a bit on the edge of so-called ‘normal’ society. UK-based but fairly global mix of members. Many are new Travellers or have been part of that scene.
UK hippy is a hub of hubs linking to gigs, festivals, conspiracy theories and more. A useful portal.
Germany has an interesting, vibrant tradition of intentional communities and squats utilising/re-building old railway wagons and similar. Sometimes referred to as ‘mobile home squats’. Links also with 'party' and sound systems and activism.
