Web of hubs

This is a real ‘web’, just like a spider’s – a place of connections – ideas – information – of dreams!

Our aim is to make it a Web of Hubs for alternative and free cultural spaces and people

The idea is to provide a loose-knit, non-hierarchical, web-based resource network for a wide range of what we are calling ‘Free Cultural Spaces’ (FCS). They wouldn’t necessarily use that term to describe themselves, but we need a simple, non-threatening term!

R50 Baugruppen Co-Housing

Description

A bit like postmodernism, R50 Baugruppen Co-housing in Berlin offers a radical architect-led post-squat and post-commune take on reality.

Links to an interesting article about ordinary people working together with architects to become developers and residents, plus a video in German with English subtitles. It's about space and form as will as housing.

Red Dog Experience

Red Dog Experience
Category
Communal spaces and places, Festivals, Music
Description

Travis T. Hipp (aka Chandler Laughlin) originated the Red Dog Experience at the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City in Nevada in the mid 1960s.

Psychedelic drugs, Native American rituals and stoner music from the likes of Big Brother and the Holding company, the Charlatans, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service and others all seem to have been part of the Psych-Cocktail.

Definitely an iconic experience and space.

About

We aim to incorporate:

– an ideas exchange – with various forums for discussion and debate
– resources sections with hyperlinks and actual information material. Potentially an online library with links to specific resources and publications, images, videos, and
– a 'web of hubs’ to sites, organisations and individuals around the world.
It’s a bold dream…we hope you and friends will help it grow…
