Jordan Zinovich was born and raised in British Columbia’s Rocky Mountains. Since 1974 he has traveled increasingly farther afield: exploring the wilds of Canada’s Far North; visiting intentional communities in the United States and the Yaqui and Lacandon shamans in Mexico and Belize; investigating the squats of Northern Europe; shepherding in Crete; wandering Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, and Northern Pakistan; and studying with the Tibetans in Northern India and the great Malinke musicians of West Africa’s Niger River delta. For 29 years he has been a member of NYC’s Autonomedia Collective. Politically he’s an anarchist, aesthetically he’s a ’pataphysician, intellectually he’s a Wittgensteinian. He admires cultures and peoples who accomplish most by draining our planet’s resources least. His ambition is to leave memories that generate pure traces of joy.
