This is a real ‘web’, just like a spider’s – a place of connections – ideas – information – of dreams!
Our aim is to make it a Web of Hubs for alternative and free cultural spaces and people
The idea is to provide a loose-knit, non-hierarchical, web-based resource network for a wide range of what we are calling ‘Free Cultural Spaces’ (FCS). They wouldn’t necessarily use that term to describe themselves, but we need a simple, non-threatening term!
Description ‘Zone to defend’ squatted by eco-activists in Western France at the site of a proposed regional airport. An international radical community, inspired by many eco-actions in the UK and free spaces such as Christiania.
Also know as La Zad.
Description A famous German intentional community. Frequently quoted as ‘a free love community’.
In their own words: “In 1991 we founded ZEGG with the intention to bring together these two aspects of change. What does the earth need, what do humans need? With our programs we want to create a space for new experiences in the area of love, community and communication hoping to encourage taking the future into our own hands.”
